Hi Olivia, really good question! I think every research scientist’s dream achievement is to win the Nobel prize, but that’s not very likely to happen since only one prize is awarded every year! I just want my work to help people, so I think helping to improve people’s lives would be my one thing I’d like to achieve.
Like Christopher, I really want to help people, so I hope that something I do gets used to make a difference. I’d love it if I could have a paper or report published that goes on to be recognised as an important piece of work and gets mentioned by other scientists in their work. I’m not sure that’s likely to happen, though you never know.
I agree with Samantha and Christopher. Science is about help people, animals, the environment… If any of the research I do can help in anyway, that would be the best achievement, to be useful to society with our findings.
I am in agreement, for me its about making a positive impact for the future. improving the way we deliver health care using the most qualified staff to do so.
Like everyone has said, knowing you can help make the world a little bit better is important. It’s nice when people want to talk about your research too- most scientists love to talk about their passions!
I would like to make something that can be used to improve healthcare or make medical doctors’ jobs easier. There are lots of other worthwhile areas of science to work in too. In general I’d like to have a positive impact on our society.

I agree with the other scientists. My dream is to one day make a molecule that is good enough to be a new medicine.
