Hi. I took Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry, History, French and Latin. Then I did A’Levels in Maths, Physics and Biology.

Unusually I started A’Level biology without having taken the O’level. I hadn’t been interested in biology at the earlier stage. I was allowed to start the A’level with the provision that I would take the O’level at the November resits (so after just a couple of months’ study) and if I passed I could continue, but otherwise I would have to drop biology A’level. Thankfully for me I passed the exam (with an A) and continued. So it shows that there can be ways around if you change your mind later, as long as you are prepared to work for it!

Hi! I took Chemistry, Physics, Maths, English Lit, English Lang, French, ICT, Drama, Music and History at GCSE, and then I took Chemistry, Physics and Maths at A-Level. I lost count of how many times I had to re-take one of my Maths modules, but I ended up getting an A in my Maths A-Level overall, so I guess the lesson to learn from that is that perseverance pays…and that I’m bad at Maths!

Maths, English Language, English Literature, Science (I didn’t do the triple science and just went for the double award!), Business Studies, History, Art, Religious Studies, and PE. Quite a mix! For A levels I took English Literature, Economics and Biology!

I took English, English Lit, Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Religious Studies, French, Music and ICT. I would definitely recommend doing a set of subjects with a bit of variety – it’s more interesting and develops the way you think in more ways!

I did English / Maths / Double Science and Welsh
      as my core subjects
Then I chose geography, French and History and IT as my choices.

I wish I did something a bit more hands on, like DT instead of History as I was rubbish at memorising names and dates!

I would say do what you enjoy, as you’ll more likely get good grades if you enjoy the subject 🙂

I did Dual Science (that included Chemistry, Biology and Physics), English literature, English Language, German, Maths, IT, Business Studies, Geography, Food Technology. Then at A Level I did Chemistry, Physics and Maths. Looking back, I wished I had chosen Biology instead of Physics, it’d would of been more useful during my degree and PhD in Chemistry.
